Pop singer-songwriter Megan Wheeler has been captivating audiences with her emotionally poignant, relatable songwriting since the release of her debut single, "Replaced," in 2020. The track garnered the then 16-year-old rave reviews and comparisons to Taylor Swift, Avril Lavigne, and Dolores O’Riordan. With well-crafted songs that resonate deeply with listeners, Megan delivers a range of emotions, from the raw sadness of heartbreak on “Replaced” to the confidence of knowing when to walk away on her forthcoming upbeat single, “Now That I’m Gone.”
Inspired by Taylor Swift, Megan is similarly dedicated to the songwriting craft, pursuing authentic creative expression, and developing resilience and confidence. Her journey as a songwriter began at a young age, with piano lessons at five and her first single release at 16. The writing of “Replaced” marked a pivotal moment in her career, when she realized that music was not just a hobby but her calling. Megan’s passion for music grew even stronger during the year she spent at Belmont University in Nashville.
“That time helped me to become independent, build beautiful friendships, and create a sense of identity,” says Megan. “That time also showed me what I did and didn’t need to help me thrive.”
After returning home to St. Petersburg, Florida, Megan began pursuing her music career in earnest. Her upcoming single, "Now That I’m Gone," promises to deliver more of the emotional depth and relatability that fans have come to expect. This new work reflects her growth as an artist, exploring themes of self-worth and empowerment, messages that resonate deeply with her generation.
Beyond music, Megan is a passionate Philadelphia Eagles fan (thanks to her Philly-native father) and regular visitor to her mother's native Ireland, where Megan enjoys dual citizenship. Her biggest interests are personal growth and social/political issues. In life and in music, she refuses to settle for less and strives to change herself—and the world—for the better. As Megan continues to evolve as an artist, her music remains a testament to the enduring power of emotional connection.
